When Feelings Moves Faster Than Truth
Your emotional world is strong, intuitive, alive. It also arrives before your thoughts get a vote.
Something happens, and before you’ve had a chance to check whether the feeling is accurate, you’re already inside it. Already reacting, already deciding, already three steps into a response the feeling wrote before thought could review the draft.
This isn’t a flaw. Feeling this deeply is often what makes you perceptive, empathetic, quick to sense what others miss. The block isn’t the feeling itself. It’s the absence of space between the signal and the response.
The Underlying Mechanics
Emotion is a body event. Chemical, immediate, happening before conscious thought engages. Feeling is the interpretation layered on top, the story your mind tells about what the body just registered.
For someone who is feeling led, that gap between emotion and interpretation nearly closes. The body signals, and the response is already moving before the mind has finished reading the signal correctly.
This means decisions get made by whichever emotion is loudest in the moment, not necessarily the one that’s most true. Mood becomes strategy. A hard morning becomes a hard week becomes a story about how things always go.

Before acting on a strong feeling, ask one question. What does this feeling actually know, versus what is it just loud about right now. Not to dismiss the emotion. To separate the accurate signal from the volume.
Practically this looks like a delay, even a short one. Feel it fully. Then wait before the decision gets made from it. The emotion doesn’t have to be smaller. Just given enough space that thought gets to check its accuracy before action inherits it wholesale.
